GeoFrame — Photo Location Map

GeoFrame ("the App") is developed and published by Mevinu Abeysinghe ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how GeoFrame handles information when you use the application on Android or iOS devices.

GeoFrame is designed to help you view and organize your photos on a map using their embedded location data. The App does not operate any cloud service, backend server, or account system for storing your personal photos, locations, or data on our servers. All processing and storage happen locally on your device.

By using GeoFrame, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

1. Information We Collect

GeoFrame does not collect, transmit, or store your photos, location data, or personal information on our servers. Limited device information may be collected automatically by third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob.

The App stores the following data locally on your device to function:

Image metadata (such as Exif location data) to place your photos on the map
Cached place names (geocoding data) for faster loading
App settings, themes, and preferences

This data never leaves your device and is never accessible to the Developer.

2. Local Data Storage & Processing

All photo scanning and location mapping within GeoFrame are performed entirely locally on your device. The app uses industry-standard local storage mechanisms (such as local databases and SharedPreferences) to maintain your settings and location cache. You can clear this data at any time by clearing the app's cache or storage, or by using the in-app option to clear the geocoding cache.

While local storage is used, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Users should ensure their device is protected with a secure lock screen.

3. Device Permissions

GeoFrame requests access to certain device capabilities solely for the following purposes:

Storage / Photos / Media: Required to access the photos on your device and read their embedded location data (Exif tags). The App does not modify or delete your original photos, nor does it upload them anywhere.
Location (GPS): Required to show your current location on the map as a blue dot. This location data is used purely for real-time display and is not stored or transmitted off your device.
Notifications: Required to send you local alerts when background photo processing (like finding newly added photos) is complete.

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, though this will limit the core functionality of the App.

4. Advertising and Analytics Services

GeoFrame uses the following third-party services operated by Google to support app functionality, monetization, and improvement. These services may collect certain device data as described below.

4.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

GeoFrame displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the following information for the purpose of ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and performance measurement:

Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / IDFA)
IP address (used to infer approximate geographic location for ad targeting)
Device information (device model, OS version, screen resolution)
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, view duration)

4.2 Google Analytics for Firebase (App Analytics)

GeoFrame uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymized usage data that helps us understand how users interact with the app and improve its features over time. Firebase Analytics automatically collects and may also receive the following data:

Usage & Event Data: Screen views, tab switches, features used (e.g. photo sharing, map location button, albums), session duration, and app opens
Device & App Information: Device model, OS version, app version, app instance ID, and language/locale settings
Crash & Performance Data: App stability and performance metrics
Inferred Location: Approximate country/region derived from IP address — never your precise GPS location

Firebase Analytics does not have access to your photos, their embedded GPS coordinates, your local map data, or any data stored privately on your device. All location data used internally by GeoFrame (for the map) remains on your device and is never sent to Firebase.

Firebase Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. You cannot be individually identified from the analytics data collected.

Your Advertising and Analytics Choices

You can opt out of personalized advertising and limit analytics data collection at any time:

Android: Settings › Google › Ads › Opt out of Ads Personalization
iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking › disable tracking for GeoFrame
You may also reset your Advertising ID at any time from your device settings
To opt out of Firebase Analytics data collection, you can disable analytics tracking in your device's privacy settings or uninstall the App

5. What the Developer Does Not Do

While GeoFrame uses Google Analytics for Firebase (see Section 4.2), the Developer does not:

Access, read, or store your personal photos or their GPS coordinates on any Developer server
Create user accounts or store any personally identifiable profile information
Sell your data to any third party
Synchronize your photos or location history to the cloud
Track your real-world location or movement

6. Data Safety (Google Play)

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety requirements, the following summarizes data practices for GeoFrame:

No personal data, photos, or location history is collected or shared by the Developer
All photo and location processing is done locally on-device
Third-party ad networks (AdMob) may collect Advertising ID and device information for ads (see Section 4)
Users can delete all app data at any time (see Section 7)
The App does not collect data from children

7. User Control and Data Deletion

You have full control over all data stored by GeoFrame. You may delete all stored data at any time by:

Using the option to "Clear Geocoding Cache" within the App's Settings
Clearing the app's cache and data through your device settings
Uninstalling the App — the operating system deletes all associated app data upon uninstallation

There is no account to delete, and no data exists on any server that requires deletion requests.

8. Children's Privacy

GeoFrame does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). The App does not intentionally target children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us using the details in Section 10. We will take prompt steps to address the issue.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features, applicable law, or third-party service practices. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes, we will endeavor to notify users through an in-app notice or app update notes.
